Purpose
Prerequisites
- You can open the Product, its Suppliers tab, and the intended Supplier details.
- You know which Product, Supplier, and purchase context you are checking.
- You can review the current relationship, planning values, stock values, and visible integration or data-status information.
Steps
- Open the Product and review Suppliers.
- Confirm that the Product is linked to the intended Supplier and that the Supplier-product relationship is present.
- Check the relationship's Active, Preferred, Recommended, and Available states separately. Confirm that the Product and Supplier identifiers refer to the intended records.
- Check Product and Supplier status. Review Ignore, Phase out, Assembled, Ignored, and other unavailable or deleted states where they are shown.
- Review planning values: Supplier default Lead time (days), Product-specific Product lead time (days), Reorder period (days) or Coverage period (days), current and next order moments, Manual agenda, and Supplier cut-off.
- Review stock, demand, and constraints: Free stock, Stock position, Incoming stock, 30-Day forecast, Safety stock, manual stock constraints, Minimum order value, Fixed order costs, MOQ, Lot size, and Stock availability where used.
- Confirm whether a connected system owns the values you changed and review the current source or integration result where available.
- Refresh or reopen the Product and Supplier details, confirm the current order moment and relationship, and recheck purchase advice after the applicable planning or data step has completed.
Fields and columns
Use the exact labels available on the relevant surfaces:
- Relationship state: Active, Preferred, Recommended, Available, and Ignored.
- Product values: Free stock, Stock position, Incoming stock, 30-Day forecast, Minimum stock level, Maximum stock level, and Phase out.
- Supplier planning: Lead time (days), Product lead time (days), Reorder period (days), Coverage period (days), Current order moment, Next order moment, Manual agenda, and Supplier cut-off.
- Supplier-product constraints: MOQ, Lot size, Supplier product stock, Availability date, and Price (base).
- Supplier order information: Minimum order value, Fixed order costs, and Stock availability.
A missing value can be Not available or Not set. Do not interpret a missing value as zero.
Expected result
You identify an eligibility or configuration condition to correct, or you have a bounded set of current values to provide when asking for further help. The checklist does not itself create purchase advice.
Limitations
- Purchase advice depends on multiple relationship, status, planning, demand, stock, cost, and timing values. No single value guarantees that advice appears.
- Preferred, Active, Recommended, and Available are distinct states; one is not a synonym for another.
- Ignore is different from deletion, and Supplier Ignore is different from Supplier-product status.
- A Product-specific Lead time can fall back to the Supplier default; a missing value is not necessarily zero.
- Recent changes can require the applicable calculation or connected-system processing step. Do not rely on a universal overnight or 24-hour promise.
- Assembled Products can follow a different purchasing workflow; compare the current configuration with the Assembly guidance when relevant.
Errors and recovery
- If the Product or Supplier cannot be opened, check the required Product or Supplier permission and the current account access.
- If the relationship is missing or has the wrong Supplier identity, use the Product's Suppliers workflow to correct it and recheck the saved relationship.
- If an edit is blocked, check ignored Supplier state, view-only access, single- or multiple-supplier configuration, and visible field validation.
- If a value is stale or unavailable, refresh or reopen the relevant page and confirm the connected system's current result before overwriting it.
- If all visible checks are valid but advice is still missing, record the current Product, Supplier, relationship states, planning values, stock values, and applicable order moment for the next support or account review. Do not include private payloads or credentials.
