πŸ”— Connecting Amazon Selling Partner API

This article details the steps to connect Optiply with Amazon's Selling Partner API (SP-API). It covers the required regional endpoints, how to handle product mapping for secondary integrations, and the credentials needed for the setup.

🌍 Regional Endpoints & AWS Regions

The Selling Partner API endpoints are specific to AWS Regions. Selecting the correct region is critical because it determines the "credential scope" required to calculate the security signature for the API connection.

Please ensure you connect to the correct endpoint based on your marketplace location:

Selling Region

Marketplaces

Endpoint URL

AWS Region

North America

Canada, US, Mexico, Brazil

https://sellingpartnerapi-na.amazon.com

us-east-1

Europe

Spain, UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, UAE, India

https://sellingpartnerapi-eu.amazon.com

eu-west-1

Far East

Singapore, Australia, Japan

https://sellingpartnerapi-fe.amazon.com

us-west-2

Multiple Markets: You can connect your account to multiple marketplaces simultaneously. Optiply supports multi-region connections.

πŸ”„ Amazon as a Secondary Integration

Amazon is often used as a Secondary Integration. This means your product database is synced from a primary source (like Shopify, WooCommerce, or an ERP), and Amazon is used solely to import Sell Orders and Sell Order Lines.

Mapping Products

Because the products originate from another source, you must define which "Key" Optiply should use to match the items sold on Amazon to the products in your database.

  • The Challenge: On Amazon, the main identifier is usually the EAN. However, many sellers use their internal SKU Code in the Amazon EAN field.

  • The Solution: In the integration setup window, you will see an option to select the mapping key. You must choose whether to map based on SKU Code or EAN Code.

βš™οΈ Connection Steps & Credentials

To establish the connection, please follow the steps outlined in our video guide below.

Required Credentials

To enable Amazon Seller OAuth, you will need to retrieve the following fields from your Amazon App settings and provide them to Optiply (or enter them in the setup form):

  • application_id

  • role_arn

  • lwa_client_id

  • client_secret

  • aws_access_key_id

  • aws_secret_access_key

If you have any questions about retrieving these credentials or configuring your region, please contact us at support@optiply.nl or via chat. We are here to help!

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What if I sell in both the US and Europe?

You will need to configure connections for both regions. Use us-east-1 for your North American sales and eu-west-1 for your European sales.

How do I know which Mapping Key to use?

Check your Amazon listing data. If the "EAN" field on Amazon actually contains your internal SKU (e.g., "SHIRT-BLUE-L"), then select SKU Code. If it contains a real barcode (e.g., "8712345678901"), select EAN Code.

Where do I find the OAuth credentials?

These are found in your Amazon Seller Central account under the App & Services or Developer Console settings. You may need to register Optiply as an application to generate the LWA (Login with Amazon) Client ID and Secrets.
