API Key for Picqer Fulfillment

In this article we'll explain how to get the Scoped API Key for your Picqer Fulfillment, which we often need.

There are 2 types of API in PF: Admin and Scoped. Admin key has access to more objects (including suppliers) and can "see" the whole organization. The scoped key is specific to only your company´s objects and does not have access to suppliers.

  • Picqer Fulfilment without API key:

    Whenever a buy order comes from Picqer it will create a supplier in Optiply based on the name that's in the field "supplier_name" of that buy order. Please remember that you do not have suppliers in the source system so this is the only reference that you have to your suppliers and the ability to manage them. This is very useful for customers to better manage their suppliers but can also get messy if the customer does not use it correctly.

  • Picqer Fulfilment with "admin" API key:

    This will work the same way as a normal Picqer integration, with the admin key we sync supplier objects from Picquer and update them with any changes the customer may make.

It's VERY important to know what API key you are using, alternating from one to another requires different data sets and configurations therefore any time this happens contact us at support@optiply.nl

How to access a scoped key

Go to the API keys in Picqer: https://redirect.picqer.com/config/apikeys

Click on "+ New API Key" in the upper right corner:

A scoped API key will be generated if you select a fulfilment client. If you do not select a fulfilment client, an unscoped API key will be generated (giving full access).

After you click 'Add API key', the API key will be generated and shown only once. If you lose the API key, you will have to generate a new one.
