πŸ”— Connecting Lightspeed C Series to Optiply

To successfully link Optiply to your Lightspeed shop, you must follow a specific installation and configuration process. This guide covers both standard shops and Multishop environments.

1. Prerequisites: Data Hygiene

Before connecting, please ensure your data in Lightspeed is up to date. This ensures the initial calculation is accurate.

  • Suppliers: Ensure all products in Lightspeed are linked to a supplier.

  • Prices: Ensure products have valid Purchase Prices and Sales Prices.

  • Stock: Ensure current stock levels are correct.

2. Standard Connection Guide

Follow these steps to establish the link:

Step 1: Install the App

Install the Optiply app directly from the Lightspeed App Store.

Step 2: Connect to Optiply

  1. Log in to Optiply.

  2. Navigate to the Settings page and select Integrations.

  3. Click Add a source.

  4. Select Lightspeed from the list.

  5. Enter Credentials: Fill in the API Key and API Secret you generated in the previous step.

  6. Click Connect.

That's it! The link is established, and Optiply will begin importing your data.

3. Lightspeed Multishop Setup

If you manage multiple Lightspeed webshops via one account (Multishop), the setup process requires a few specific steps to ensure they are linked correctly.

Step 1: Install per Shop

You must install the Optiply app for each individual Lightspeed shop.

⚠️ Crucial Tip: Perform each installation in Incognito Mode (Private Browsing).

Step 2: Use Unique Emails

Use a different email address for each installation.

  • This does not have to be your actual Lightspeed user address.

  • You can use aliases or fictitious addresses (e.g., inkoop@shop1.com, inkoop@shop2.com) just to complete the installation form.

Step 3: Contact Optiply Support

Once installed, please contact us with the following details so we can merge these into your main user account:

  1. URLs: The URLs of all the shops you installed Optiply on.

  2. Consolidation Logic: Tell us how to match products across shops (usually via SKU Code or EAN Code). We recommend SKU.

  3. Stock Adjustments: Confirm if you want Optiply to push stock updates to all shops when you receive a purchase order.

4. Post-Connection Configuration

Lightspeed does not store certain data points that are critical for purchasing. Once connected, you will need to enrich your data in Optiply:

  • Supplier Details: Log in to Optiply and fill in any missing supplier details (lead times, etc.).

  • Order Constraints: Lightspeed does not have Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) or Order Sizes (Lot sizes). You can provide a list (CSV) of these values to Optiply support or import them yourself to ensure accurate advice.

  • Emailing Suppliers: Let us know if you want to send purchase orders directly to suppliers from Optiply so we can configure your email settings.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why do I need to use Incognito mode for Multishop?

Lightspeed's browser cookies can sometimes confuse the installer if you are logged into multiple shops or the main account simultaneously. Using Incognito mode ensures a clean session for each installation.

My API Key isn't working. What should I do?

Ensure you have copied the API Secret correctly. If you lost the secret or it wasn't saved, you must generate a new API Key in Lightspeed and try again.

Can I link products by EAN instead of SKU?

Yes, but we strongly recommend using SKU Code for Multishop consolidation. If you prefer EAN, please explicitly inform the Optiply support team when you request the account merge.
