π How To: See Which Products Do Not Have a Supplier
If a product in your catalogue is not linked to a supplier, Optiply cannot generate purchase advice for it. Finding and fixing these unlinked products is an essential maintenance task to keep your inventory flowing smoothly!
Fortunately, Optiply makes it incredibly easy to track down these "orphaned" products. Here are two quick ways to see exactly which items in your catalogue currently lack a supplier connection.
ποΈ Method 1: Using the Products Page Filter
If you are already working in your product catalogue, you can use our advanced filters to instantly isolate unlinked items.
Navigate to the Products page from the top menu.
Click on the Filters button located at the top left of the data table.
In the column dropdown menu, scroll down and select Supplier connection.
In the parameter dropdown menu, select Does not exist.
Click Apply.
Once applied, the data table will instantly refresh to display only the products that currently do not have a supplier associated with them.
π Method 2: Using the Home Page Dashboard (The Shortcut!)
If you want to check your catalogue health at a glance as soon as you log in, the Home Page dashboard does the heavy lifting for you!
Navigate to your Home page.
Look for the Products section on your dashboard.
You will see a dedicated alert line showing the exact number of products without a supplier.
Simply click the View button next to this alert.
Clicking this button acts as a shortcut. It automatically redirects you to the Products page with the "Supplier connection: Does not exist" filter pre-applied!
β Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why did my products sync without a supplier?
This usually happens if the product was created in your webshop or ERP (like Shopify or Exact) but the supplier field was left blank before the data synced to Optiply. It can also happen if your specific integration does not support automatic supplier relationship syncing.
How do I link a supplier once I find these products?
Once you have your filtered list of unlinked products, you can either click into each product to manually assign a supplier or you can use a CSV import to bulk-link them. (For step-by-step instructions, check out our article: How To: Connect Your Products with Suppliers).
Can Optiply just assign my default supplier to these blank products?
Because ordering from the wrong vendor can cause costly supply chain errors, the algorithm will not guess or assume a supplier. The relationship must be explicitly defined by you or your source system.
