π Exact Online: Finding Your Division Code
When connecting Exact Online to Optiply, you may be asked for your Exact Division Code (sometimes referred to as the Administration Code). This numeric ID uniquely identifies your specific company file within the Exact Online environment.
Here is how to find it.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Log in to Exact Online
Navigate to Exact Online and log in with your credentials.
2. Access the Administration Overview
Once the dashboard loads, look at the top-left corner of the screen. Click on the Administration Name (your company name) to open the dropdown menu.
3. Select "All Options"
In the dropdown menu, select All Options to view the full list of available administrations.
4. Locate the Division Code
You will see a list of your administrations. Look for the column labelled Code.
To find the specific Division Code used for the API:
Hover your mouse over the number in the "Code" column for your desired administration.
Look at the bottom-left corner of your browser window (the status bar). A URL will appear.
Find the part of the URL that says
Division=.The number immediately following
Division=(e.g., 1923270) is your Division Code.
π‘ Alternative Method: If you cannot see the URL at the bottom of your browser, you can right-click the number in the Code column, select "Copy Link Address", and paste it into a notepad to read the number after Division=.
β Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is the "Division Code" the same as the "Code" column?
Not always. The "Code" column shows the display code you assigned to the company. The Division Code needed for API connections is the internal system ID found in the URL (as described in Step 4). Always use the number found in the URL to be safe.
Why do I need this code?
Optiply uses this code to ensure we are connecting to the correct administration, especially if your user account has access to multiple companies within Exact Online.
I don't see the status bar URL. What do I do?
If hovering doesn't show the URL, use the "Right-Click > Copy Link Address" method described in the tip above.
