🔗 Monta Portal: Creating API Credentials
To connect MontaWMS to Optiply, you need a specific API Username and Password. If you do not have these credentials or wish to create a dedicated user for this integration, follow the steps below in your Monta portal.
Step 1: Access REST API Settings
Log in to your Monta portal.
Navigate to the Main folder in the menu.
Select Connect.
Look for the "Installed" section.
Locate the option labelled REST API.
Step 2: Add a New User
Once you click on REST API, you will see your API details.
Look to the right-hand side of the screen. You will see a "Link to documentation."
Click the "+" (Plus) sign next to that link to add a new user.
Step 3: Enter User Details
A pop-up or form will appear.
Name: Enter a recognisable name (e.g., "Optiply Integration").
Email: Enter a valid email address for this user.
Click Connect.
Step 4: Save Your Credentials
A final pop-up will appear displaying the generated UserName and Password.
⚠️ Crucial Step: Copy and save these credentials immediately. You will need to enter them into Optiply to complete the connection.
Once you close this window, you may not be able to view the password again.

I lost the password. Can I recover it?
For security reasons, API passwords are often only shown once upon creation. If you lose the password, you will likely need to delete the user and create a new one following the steps above.
Why do I need a separate user?
Creating a specific API user (e.g., named "Optiply") allows you to track exactly what actions the integration is performing in your system logs, separating them from actions taken by your human staff.
Where do I enter these credentials?
Go to your Optiply Dashboard → Settings → Integrations → Add Source → MontaWMS. Paste the Username and Password there.
