The minimum stock represents the 'desired lowest quantity' of a product in your warehouse. Optiply will always increase your stock to at least that level when we purchase a product. The purchase advice for a product might also be higher, but never lower than the minimum stock.

If you would like Optiply to automatically plan extra order moments when your stock is below the minimum stock for a product, activate the 'Backorder Feature'. We plan an order moment when a stock level gets below the minimum stock, and the order conditions are met.

Impact on Phased-Out Items

Phased-out items can still appear in your purchase orders due to the minimum stock settings. If a phased-out product has a minimum stock level greater than 0, Optiply will suggest ordering that item to replenish its stock and meet the set minimum level. For instance, if a product's minimum stock level is set to 1, the system overrides its phase-out status and recommends ordering enough to meet this requirement.

Set a minimum stock

Take the following steps to setup

  1. Go to the Product Page and select the Information tab. go to the product settings section of the page and "Manual stock constraints". Here you'll just need to change the value for minimum stock level.
Don't forget to save in the end.

  2. From the overlay inside a purchase order, select a product and click on the product tab, If you scroll down to Manual stock constraints you'll find the option to change the minimum stock level. Don't forget to save in the end.

If a phased-out item already appears in your purchase order and you do not wish to order it, you can simply ignore the suggestion or manually remove the item from the purchase order.

You can update the minimum stock for a product over our Public API. Minimum stock is an attribute on the product endpoint.
