To give you accurate purchase advice, we consider your product's lead times (delivery times). Without a lead time, Optiply can not give purchasing advice.

Optiply defines lead time as:

"The time it takes from ordering a product at a supplier until it is in stock at your warehouse". You measure lead time in days *.

Supplier Lead Time

By default, we use the supplier's lead time for a product. Products from this supplier can be purchased according to that lead time.

To fill in the supplier's lead time, take the following steps:

  1. Go to the 'Suppliers Page'

  2. Select a 'Supplier' and you'll find this value in planning

  3. Fill in the 'Lead Time' number in days *.

Do not forget to save in the end.

Product Lead Time

You can set a specific product lead time if a product has a lead time that differs from the supplier's regular lead time.

To fill in the product lead time, take the following steps:

  1. Go to the 'Products Page'

  2. Select a 'product'

  3. Navigate to 'Suppliers' β†’ 'Edit'

  4. Fill in the 'Product Lead Time' at a specific supplier in number of days * and don't forget to hit save in the end.

We can also upload the product lead time in bulk. Please find a format on the product-suppliers-data page.

* A lead time must be at least one day.
A lead time of 0 days would imply instant delivery.

Product Lead Time will take priority over Supplier Lead Time and this will influence advice. So make sure when you want to change the Supplier Lead time to include all products, they reflect that change as well.
