How do I deal with best-before dates?
How do I deal with best-before dates?

If you work with best before dates, it is important not to put down too much stock. We recommend tackling this at the source.

It is best to arrange this at the supplier settings. Keep the cycle (Order period + Delivery time) shorter than the best-before date. This way you can never buy too much stock. For example, if you have a best-before-date period of one year, make sure that your delivery time + order period together does not exceed 365 days. We will then ensure that there is not too much stock.

In addition, for specific products, you can always keep the stock time next to the best-before date, so you can see exactly whether you have too much stock.

Tip: keep a close eye on your "order by" and MOQ at the product level. If they exceed the demand for a product, they quickly create overstock.
