πŸ› οΈ The Assembly Page (BETA)

The Assembly page is a powerful tool designed for merchants who sell composed products (items built or bundled from multiple individual parts). It allows you to efficiently place assembly orders and provides deep insights into your product composition and raw material quantities.

⚠️ Feature Availability Notice: > * BETA Status: This page is currently in BETA and will be available to all customers soon. For early access or more information, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or contact us via chat or at support@optiply.nl.

Version Restriction: The Assembly feature requires advanced composition tracking and is unavailable in the Optiply Lite version.

πŸ“¦ 1. Managing Your Assembly Orders

This feature is a great tool for managing the entire lifecycle of your composed products, from identifying missing parts to tracking the final build.

The Assembly Order Editor Before you can build a product, you need to know if you have the right parts. The Assembly Order Editor allows you to view exactly which composed products can be assembled immediately using your existing stock. If you are short on materials, the editor clearly highlights the specific parts that need to be purchased.

The Assembly Delivery Editor Once an assembly order is underway, this editor helps you track the physical progress on individual order lines. This keeps you in complete control of your assembly cycle, ensuring you know exactly when composed items will be ready to sell.

πŸ” 2. Product Composition & Inventory Overview

The Assembly page provides a quick, detailed breakdown of the required vs. available quantities of parts for every composed product in your catalogue. This helps you make highly informed purchasing decisions for your raw materials.

  • Custom Measurement Units: Not all parts are counted in whole numbers! For highly precise inventory management, your stock quantities can be customised and tracked in units like millilitres (ml), centimetres (cm), or grams (g).

🚦 3. Understanding Availability Statuses

When reviewing your composed products, the system uses clear status indicators to tell you if you have the necessary parts to begin assembly:

  • All parts are available: You have everything you need in the warehouse. You can proceed directly with the assembly.

  • Only some parts are available: You are missing certain components. Partial assembly may be possible depending on the product, but you will likely need to wait for a purchase order to arrive to finish the batch.

  • No parts are available: You are completely out of stock for the required components. Additional raw materials must be ordered before any assembly can take place.

❓ 4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I order the missing parts for an assembly?

Because the Assembly Order Editor highlights exactly which parts are missing and how many you need, you can use that data to generate standard purchase orders for those specific raw materials from your suppliers.

Can I use the Assembly feature to manage simple bundles (like a 3-pack of t-shirts)?

Yes! A "composed product" can be anything from a complex manufactured item (like a bicycle made of gears, wheels, and a frame) to a simple warehouse bundle (like taking three individual t-shirts and packaging them as a single "3-Pack" SKU).
